Im excited to unveil the Mercatorio Interactive Map, a powerful new tool designed to enhance your gameplay experience in the world of Mercatorio. Whether you’re a seasoned or new player, this interactive map offers a range of features to help you make smarter decisions and plan more efficiently.
1. **Town Range and Outpost Extension ** The map allows you to view the exact range of any town and its surrounding outposts. Outposts are crucial as they extend the reach of your town, allowing access to more resources and strategic advantages. With this feature, you’ll be able to plan your town’s growth and resource acquisition more effectively. Keep in mind that the outpost extends in a radius around itself, so the real expansion is not as big as the map shows.

2. **Resource Markers ** Discover resources with ease! Colored markers are strategically placed across the map, showing the locations of all available resources. This visual aid ensures that you never miss out on the important materials you need for growth and expansion.

3. **Town Stats ** By left-clicking on any town marker, a popup displays vital stats about the town, including fertility and the amount of resources available within each range (normal, outpost 1, and outpost 2). This feature gives you a quick snapshot of what each town offers, making it easier to decide where to focus your efforts. You can also notice a thumbtack near the town name, clicking on it will select that town to filter some features for it, more on this later.

4. **Fertility and Forest Overlays ** Two unique overlays help you better understand the environment around each town. These overlays are essential for resource planning and expansion strategies, especially when seeking fertile lands or looking for the perfect spot for your next logging camp.
On the fertility overlay blue is water, gray is arid land, light brown is grazing land, green is fertile land and brown is clay (which is also fertile).

On the forest overlay red means that the forest tile doesnt have enough forests tiles nearby to allow you to reach the maximum size of a logging camp, green means that you can reach the maximum size

5. **Market Visualizer ** The Marker Visualizer feature makes it simple to see market conditions in every town. The map displays markers for a selected product, with the marker size representing market volume and the color indicating price. Dark blue indicates the cheapest markets, while dark red signals expensive ones. Left-clicking on a market marker reveals more in-depth information about that town’s trading conditions. This tool makes it easier to find the best deals and plan your trade routes. The information is updated once per turn a few minutes after the turn starts, the time it was last updated is show on the sidebar.

A bit of explanation about unusual terms. Bid/Ask Volume 10% is the amount of bids or asks (buy or sell orders) that vary 10% or less from its respective price (highest bid/lowest ask), unfortunatly it isnt possible to get the exact amount and price point of each bid/ask on the market without overwhelming the Mercatorio server

You can also toggle all the tooltips at once to make it easier to compare at a glance

6. **Transport Ranges (Work in Progress) ** Transport Ranges provides an estimate of transportation routes between towns. While it currently assumes a perfect straight-line route (ignoring terrain variation), future updates will account for real-world obstacles like altitude and forests. This tool is set to revolutionize how you plan your trade routes.

“This is unusable!!” - Remember about the thumbtack? By selecting a town, only that town transports ranges will show.
